Biography
When lava meets ice, heat does not immediately destroy the cold. It passes through it. The ice absorbs this energy, cracks, melts, becomes water, and sometimes turns into steam upon contact with incandescent rock. At the same time, the lava cools rapidly at its surface and contracts, while its core remains burning hot and expanded. Matter is then caught between two incompatible temperatures, subjected to stresses that crack it, fragment it, and can transform water into an explosion of steam. For a moment, heat and cold do not truly fight each other: they exchange energy, change state, and transform one another.
Heat does not defeat cold. It transforms it.
